Spanish Colonization in Cuba
When the Spanish colonized Cuba there were many changes for both countries. Once the Spanish came the natives of Cuba, the Guanahatabetes, Ciboneys and Tainos, were forced to do labor. This all started however when Chief Hatuey was tied to a post and burned because he did not tell where the gold was. Because there were not enough natives to do all of the farming needed this started the slave trade. When the Africans came this brought a whole new culture. So in Cuba there was the culture of the natives, the culture of the Spanish, and the culture of the Africans all together. There were many cash crops going to Spain from Cuba for example, sugar cane, making it a big income land for the Spanish. Right now in Cuba the language is Spanish which came from Spain so the culture is still in Cuba today.
