Colonization of Brazil

Brazil was colonized for one main reason, sugar. Sugar was extremely expensive back then and anyone who had lots of sugar was very rich. Also Brazil is a very good example of the colony affecting the colonizer. When Portugal colonized Brazil it obviously made the people of Brazil speak Portuguese. Today Portuguese is modified and changed so much that the real Portuguese is basically "Brazilian" because most of the words and phrases are derived from the people in Brazil such as the African slaves, the indigenous people and all of the other people who live in Brazil.
