Britain conquering India

India in the 17th century was much obviously much different than it is today. As European countries began to settle in the country, it began to transform. Britain probably had the biggest influence on India, shaping it into a completely different country. Britain's leading stock joint company, East India Company, established its first factory in India in the early 1600's. Over the next century, the company established more posts through out the country. This progressed to be one of Britain's most successful branch for resources.
By the 19th century Britain began to make more extreme acts towards controlling India with violence. Because there was no uniting force in the country at the time and Britain had such a good navy, India was conquered with ease. Britain stayed in power up until the late 19th century, when India began to revolt. wars were fought between Britain's navy and rebels throughout India. India gained its independence in 1947.
