Australia and Colonization
Before the settlers came to Australia, the native people were and still are the Aborigines. Their land was taken by Arthur Phillip without there consent and as people kept taking their land, just like the Indians, theyir numbers grew smaller and their culture weaker. Though they still live in the outback of Australia today. The colonist also had a a tough time adapting to the new land. Th first set of ships had a rough time because in a matter of thirty months. The animals and plants they had planned to use as food were euther stolen, killed, or failed to grow or live. Finally though the colonist got onto their feet and started to get back together due to a ship with supplies coming to Australia. Through all this though the settlers failed to ever hold a stead relationship with the natives and so they were either at peace or aganist one another. As the setlers expanded the range of the natives grew smaller because of how there were no well established treaties.

It's kind of funny how when the people took over the land they seemed really powerful and intimidating, but once they took it over they didn't even make good use of it. They failed to grow crops and they had a hard time adapting to the new land. It's weird that they didn't have an actual relationship with the natives though, because usually when a country invades a country the natives will fight back, or they will try to compromise.
ReplyDeleteThis was good, and i like how you explained how their land was taken by arthur phillip, along with their culture and how the population of native australians got smaller. Animals and what not were stolen,or didn't to grow there until more were shipped from home. And i agree with miranda about how usually the natives fight back, and its weird that they didnt.
