British Invasion in India

When the British took over India, they introduced many new and different things to the Indian culture. Before the British arrived, they were one of the richest countries in the world. When the British left, they left India in shambles. India had just finished a war of independence against the British, and a lot of deaths took place, including the death of a very important leader, Gandhi. These things were obviously not beneficial to India.
However some things were beneficial to India. The British introduced the railroad system, and other religions. However, Hinduism is still the main religion and Hindi the main language. The Indians were affected in good and bad ways. The British, gained a lot of resources when they were in India, but then once they left they had no more incoming wealth, and they had hard feelings with India. So, the British control of India was both good and bad.
