Haiti Crisis- relation to culture

  1. ahhh... accidently posted this. well heres what i was going to say...
After the crisis in haiti people are struggling with panic and distress without many needs. Mark Brayne, a psycho-therapist specialising in individual and collective trauma, said "To prevent lasting mental injury people need shelter, warmth, a meaning to life, things to do – and as fast as possible." Culture and religion can give a person a meaning to life, but with the earthquake destroying to land, along with worshiping places, it isn't easy to practice their religion and customs. Some customs such as the burial of humans is an issue. With the many bodies piling up, seeing and doing burial ceremonies are near to impossible to do. They say the rituals are how you cope with death, so the haitians are in a predicament.
