British Control Over China

On July 1st, 1997 China regained control of what was theirs after one hundred and fifty six years of British control. The minute that the control was back to the Chinese, there was much excitement; along with a lot of change. They began to replace everything back to the Chinese symbol.
There was a big celebration at midnight when they took back control. After midnight, Jiang gave the oath of office to Tung Chee-hwa.
Everyone was very excited for switch of reign when the British agreed to give it back to China.They both had to negotiate to get to the point of agreement.At the very end, a man said ; "It's a good thing we can finally get rid of the imperialists. We're all Chinese. I feel great. This land belongs to China."
