Haiti's Hurting

I will have to fact check the information, but my dad was telling me about how Haiti is on a Tectonic plate. This means that it was already prone to earthquakes. The thing my dad said that upset me the most was that Haiti was warned about 2 years ago that a major earthquake would occur, but no one could say when. Haiti was told to earthquake proof all buildings and to tear down buildings that were too tall. The Haitian government seemed to just ignore these directions because they needed government money to go into keeping their people alive instead of preparing for an earthquake that might not happen. We all know that this earthquake did indeed happen and you might be thinking that the Haitian government should have done something, but think about their situation with money and decide if you would have funded in the earthquake protection instead.
