Portugal Colonizing Brazil

After some research I found out that the Portuguese found sugarcane on Brazil, and they didnt see that before and that was very interesting how Portugal got more interested in the colonies. I also saw that Portugal was limited to colonizing only the coast of Brazil because after an agreement in 1494 there was a divinding line and Portugal only controlled a small amount of Brazils land while Spain controlled more.
