The British colonizing India

When the English colonized the British in the 1850s, their culture was greatly effected in many ways. They were effected in religion, industrialization, and politics which effects them to this day. England brought things to India such as railroads and trains, which they would have never had without them. This really revolutionized travel and commercial transport in India. But the British also used some of their resources for their own benefit. They used cotton from India for textiles and for a lot of things they took advantage of India and took away some of it's culture by coming in and bringing their own culture.

  1. It seems that this is also like the native Americans who experienced new ideas and things when the Europeans came to North America. I think that India benefited a little from this thing like with the railroads and stuff. But we know that Britain had a conspiracy against India to take complete control over it.

  2. I also did Britain colonizing India, but I did not know that their religion was greatly affected. I also did not know that railroads and new goods were brought to India. I focused on the fact that India was affected negatively by Britain because they took resources at cheaper costs, but more labor was needed for the demand. I also learned that they manipulated the Indians for control over kings. It is good to know though that the British also affected the Indians' culture in a positive way by revolutionizing and bringing new technology to the land.

  4. I like how you pointed out something good with the colonization, how the english brought things to india like railroads and trains. They helped them discover new things. But how the British used some of India's resources, like how they used cotton for textiles and that they took advantage of India and took away their culture. I agree.

  5. I agree with what you said how the British brought many attributes to India. The British also receved many postives by doing so, and gave India many positives.
