Response to the end of poverty
It is a very controversial topic because on one side people are saying that people don't need that many things to get out of poverty, but other people are saying that it is almost impossible to get out of poverty and also say out of poverty. The really interesting fact is that we consume so much and we give so little to help the impoverished directly. Indirectly we are helping them a little like finding cures but cures don't do you any good if you can't pay for them. Even as children we were put into this mindset that all humans should be on equal grounds? Share the sandbox... Don't exclude people... Robin Hood. Aren't these all examples of what we were told when we were young. This is in the US. Kids are told things that adults don't even consider because money is always an issue. If we could find some way to have the US consume less and give their money to the people in poverty then the only problem would be that people would say "I earned my money for what I got and I am entitled to spend it however I want". Well if we could educate people to try and show them that investing in the poor is good for humanity as a whole then that would be great. However, it doesn't seem that there is any real profit to be made. So I see the only way for the poor to get out of poverty is the communist countries would have to be the main powers of the world. However, when they are they obviously will want to better themselves and so they will give rewards based on work done which is capitalism. So by becoming a world power and globalizing they would inadvertently become capitalist. The country inside might still be communist but after time people will start to want more and slowly communist countries will become capitalist.
