Global Policy Reform Response
The article that I found on the Global Policy Reform website was about how in many under developed countries such as Rwanda and Cambodia there are vehicles that drive around to village to village and offer internet access for a fee. These vehicles are equipped with WiFi connection and the villagers are able to go on the vehicle and ask for web content and the vehicle will leave and come back with the information they were looking for. Since these villages do not have internet access the vehicles have to leave and come back with their information. This idea is somewhat good, but there are many down sides to this idea. First of all, I think that it is bad that the people have to pay to get this information. I think it should just be given for free because and volunteers should be offering to do this for them because these people cannot afford a lot already and it is more important that they spend their money on food and shelter. Also, this information that they want is mainly in english and a lot of the villagers cannot read english. I think this topic is interesting because it has a lot to do with globalization and being able to bring together the world in different ways such as the internet. I hope that ideas like this occur, but in better ways.
