Poverty Reading Response

The reading was very shocking, sad, and made me think. The statistics in this article were so shocking to believe. It is disgusting that there are more than 34,000 children that die each day from hunger. There are people in this world that make more than 100 times more than millions of people under the poverty line. It is sick! It surprises me to think that our world has improved so much and we still can not solve problems that can be solved! We are now finding cures for cancer and so many other diseases which is amazing, but many people can't afford to have the cure because they cannot afford it. It is so upsetting to know that the money is close to being equally distributed and that such a small percentage makes more than millions of people. It really speaks to me to help make a change!
