To be honest, looking at all those numbers was daunting and in a way disgusted me. I don't know why I have a hard time comprehending things like,
-we spend more money (about $2 million more) on cosmetics in the US than education for all?
-billions of money each year that could put every willing child in the world in school is spent on the military?
-so much money spent on drugs and alchohol?
and get this, the total sum of basic education for all, water and sanitation, reproductive health for all women, and basic health and nutrition doesn't even sum up by a long shot to equal military spending and narcotics! I honestly couldn't digest looking at those numbers. It made me feel horrible to just sit at my computer and look at that when millions of people out there can't live to see tomorrow because they're hungry. It almost makes one wonder if any of these problems can be fixed or will these developing countries come to an end one day?

Shanelle, I really enjoyed reading your post and totally agree with you. It really makes you take a step back and be like whoa, what is happening in the word.
