Enlgish in Universities

The article I chose was one discussing the fact that more foreign universities are offering classes taught only in English. It talked about the fact that by teaching in English, it caters to a larger variety of students. In the end it increases the revenue of the universities, which then allows them to provide better services for their students. In addition, a dean of a university in Madrid stated that English is the new Latin, and gives everyone a common, working language. This interested me because it was a true example of globalization. English is spreading, and fast, in one university in France, it is not even considered a foreign language and has not been since 1999. It gives students the opportunity to travel internationally, exploring new cultures and globalization as it happens.
