Global Policy Forum
My article was on how the rainforest is being cut down in order to make palm oil plantations. people still cut the rainforest down even though itys has been proven to speed up climate change, increase pollution, and do other harmful stuff. In places like Sumatra, people displace endangered species like oranguytans and tigers due to to deforestation. This is a very big issue and we need to address it alot more then we already do. This issue attracted me because I have always been an activist for stopping the destruction of the rainforest. I feel that we need to really stop the destruction beacuse we don't know how much we ned something until it is gone and the rainforest is almost gone. Since Columbus came to the Americas, most of the rainforest has been cut down by about 80% and more and scientist predict most of it will be gone by 2025 or sooner.
