End of Poverty link Response

"Better aid is needed, not just more aid." That line had really stopped me in my tracks as I was reading. I believe someone said something like this in class this morning in History. It's not about throwing money at a country (Maggie, said this I believe). In a sense, there doesn't need to be a way to give, but support, if that makes sense. I had downloaded a link about the End of Poverty book. It's about 11 pages talking his reseach with poverty stricken areas. A question he raises was "If the poor are poor because they are lazy or their governments are corrupt, how could global coorporation help?" (page 6/11 on PDF, page 47) He goes into explaining the differnt parts of poverty. The factors into it and such. I agree with most of what he says so far that I'm thinking about checking out his book when I have time. There needs to be a change. That's the bottom line.
