Response to 'The Misson'

I thought the movie was very eye-opening because of what happened to the natives. Father Gabriel and Rodrigo came in to convert them and stop them from being taken as slaves and being killed by the Portuguese. The society worked until the Portuguese came and tried to take them back as slaves/kill them, because the Portuguese wanted their land. Father Gabriel and Rodrigo refused to leave the society, and a war resulted. The Portuguese killed almost all of the natives, and Father Gabriel and Rodrigo as well.

I didn't think that it was fair for the natives to be forced out of their land. Even though the land was in Portugal, they were there first and had the whole colony set up. They should've worked it out some other way or the Portuguese should've left them alone.
