PBS Pizzaro Conquest Response
I think these posts were very interesting because they provided perspectives from people of different ethnicities, social rankings, and importance. It provides perspectives from crew members, leaders, and Incas, and because all of these are real entries, I know that I am seeing all of the sides to one story, instead of a bias opinion. These entries also gave me a feel for what it was realistically like for the people who were camping with Pizarro. I know all of the people's feelings and emotions throughout the entire trip, and I think that is really important to understanding why or how the Europeans came to conquer all of the people that they did. In one post, it talks about how Pizarro found Incan tribal members on a boat, and used three of them to help translate from the Incans to the Europeans. This shows a major clash of cultures, and the influence colonizers can have on their colony, and vice versa. I really enjoyed reading these posts and am happy that PBS published them.
