The Mission

I thought that this was a deep movie that truly showed the emotion and intensity of the Portuguese take-over and destruction of the Indian tribe. It specifically showed the adversity of the tribe and the Jesuit priest's willingness to care about the tribe that he lived with, while at the same time trying to convert the tribe to Christianity. For me, this movie showed an authentic aspect of colonization and conflict between the Guarani tribe and the secular Spanish and Portuguese colonial governments.
