The World is Flat Response
I really liked the first part of The World is Flat. I liked Friedman's view on how the world is flat and that everything is still evolving and will always continue evolving. Also, I liked the example he made from Columbus searching for India and Friedman already knowing where to go because of navigation systems and all these new transportations. It really showed how much the world is changing and evolving and will always be doing those things. That example also shows the improvement of science and technology and how globalization has caused those improvements. I also liked his example of McDonalds on how they scan your picture and order and match them to the window to recieve food. That example shows how the little things such as a drive thru is fueled by technology made by the never ending globalization. Friedman's first part of the Lecture was very interesting and made me think a lot about globalization as a whole and think more about if it is good, bad, both or neither.
