The Rise Of Netscape

NetScape is an internet browser, created by Marc Andreseen. It was created in 8/9/95. Netscape was best known for its web browser. This browser used to be dominant until internet explorer. Since the 1990s the user percentage has crashed from 90% to barely 1%. AOL purchased the company in 1998. Netscape stated once that one of its goals was to "flatten out the playing fields.In 1998 Netscape began to opensource Mozilla Firefox. They began to publicly release the code to use Netscape hoping that it will make them a well used and popular company again.

    Once netscape was up there was a large gaping worm whole to other countries. It really connected the world in a different way. It really fueled globalization, and without it we may not have the technologies and tools of today like Mozilla Firefox.
