Response to video

The Time For School video gave me a different perspective of education. I am sure that many people, including me, sometimes take the education that they have for granted. The video showed that many children either do not have an education, do not get a good education, or have to fight to stay in school. The easiest route to take a lot of the time is, unfortunately, dropping out. In 2000, nations made a vow that by 2000, all children will be able to have an education. Although there has been a lot of improvement, 75 million children don’t get schooling and tens of millions have to fight to stay in school. For example, in Brazil, many females cannot get an education because of discrimination, violence, and the Taliban. In Brazil, many poorer children cannot get an education due to violence, drugs, invasions, and lack of materials. In India, many children who are in school don’t learn basic things such as reading, writing, and arithmetic. Therefore, many children aren’t getting the promised education that they deserve.

  1. I agree, I found the stastics very suprising. Expecially the world wide ones, about illiterate people. It was really sad too, because I am sure a lot of those people have so much potential, but don't have the same oppurtunities as people in other countries.
