First Amendment of the Constitution

The first Amendment of our Constitution guarantees religious freedom, which was a revolutionary idea. Even the Philosophes had not been that tolerate to people of other religions other than Christianity. The amendment clearly states that people of different religions have freedom and safety. Other parts of this amendment include freedom of the press, which most philosophes supported, and many other freedoms are declared in the First Amendment. This made our constitution one of the first ones to include these freedoms and enforce/defend them.
