"...ensuring the exercise of social and individual rights, liberty, security, well-being, development, equality and justice as supreme values of a fraternal, pluralist and unprejudiced society, founded on social harmony and committed..." (Brazil Constitution, Preamble)
The above text found in Brazil's preamble sounds a lot like Rousseau's thoughts from the Social Contract in 'life, liberty, and happiness.' He was also very passionate about individual freedoms. Rousseau wanted harmony and happiness to come from people. That's what Brazil seems to want also.

This is a great post! I think that the quote from Brazil's Constitution is almost exactly what Rousseau believed during the enlightenment!
