The constitution of the USSR
I researched the constitution of the USSR A.K.A. Soviet Russia. I wanted to see what the backbone of their ideology was based on. It was adopted on October 7 1977. I found that it says that they combine the citizens rights and freedoms with their duties to society. In article 2 it says that soviets exercise state power Soviets of People's Deputies. These people make up the political foundation of the USSR. In article 2 it also says that all power in the USSR belongs to the people. In article 4it says that the state must protect the rights of the citizens which is one of the things we said that a government should do for its citizens. It goes extensively into how people should not use public property (which is all property) for selfish gains or personal gain. This basically means that the state protects their freedoms and rights but the states needs are always above the needs of the individual.

Interesting information how their constitution was adopeted not that long ago. It's also interesting how the needs of the government is is always above citizens, but it still protects their freedoms and rights.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very interesting point. At first it seems like the government is like a democracy but then you hear about how the governments needs go before the citizens which doesn't really follow what a government should do for its people.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to see the current political policys of russia. It is also stunning to realize that this constitution is so new. Russia has changed and altered many times in the last century.
