Why do people buy products/services/goods from other countries? Why not just make them locally?

Sorry about the double post but I forgot some stuff that I was going to put in the first paragraph. So a third reason would be the quality of the certain good. Most people know that Switzerland is known for making chocolate, but America isn't so an American chocolate company might buy from Switzerland knowing that you can't get quality like that where you are selling your items.
