WHy do people buy products/services/goods from other countries? WHy not make them locally?

I think the main reason people buy products from other countries is due to the quality and price of the item. It is an efficient way to buy something because the product is native to the country they bought it from as opposed to buying something from a country who doesn't have the resources to acquire the product, meaning the quality is cheapened.
Countries can't always make products locally because of the demand of money in their country, the lack of resources to make the products, and the fact that trade is less expensive than having to build a factory, acquire the resources, pay the workers, etc.
