Why do people buy products/services/goods from other countries? Why not just make them locally?

Many companies manufacture their items in other countries because it is usually cheaper to do so. For example, many items we use are made in China. This is because of the cheap labor force there. Also, if American companies made their products locally, they would have to pay their workers minimum wage, which is higher in the USA compared to other countries. production in other countries also can help because in addition to cheap labor, there is also mass production. So, there can be a lot of products for a cheap price.
