Thomas Hobbes
Thomas Hobbes was the first thinker of the 17th century to apply new methods to the human sciences. Hobbes wrote one of the most revolutionary books on political theory, Leviathan. He was greatly intrested in new sciences. Hobbes believed humans were matierial that were ruled by material and physical laws. He also believes that human behavior is based on sunsation that leads to feeling, which leads to decision, which leeds to action. Both of Hobbes methods of inquiry and his basic assumptions would soon form the basis of arguments against absolute monarchy.
