This packet was super interesting. I always use things and never really wonder how they got here. I never really actually appreciate the way things are. The reason why there are cell phones where you can not only call and text, but you can also use the internet. Also, the reason why there are house phones, cars from all over the world, and electricity. These are examples of some things that were started during the Industrial Revolution. It all started with the agricultural revolution. As changes happened and agricultural became more individual than communal, necessity drew people to the growing cities for work. It was the necessity, not the attraction. After, this factory environment was formed. As the machinery (for weaving, for example) got more complicated, it became more expensive for individuals to afford. That is when Arkwright opened a large mill-a factory system. Somehow, this spread and inventions started going. The telegraph to then the wireless telegraph to then the combustion engine to the automobile. This factory system is what created these working class people and the middle class. This was usually in the urban, city areas. The Industrial Revolution was actually great. So many things got started, like new inventions. But, the Industrial Revolution affected much more than that. It increased economic power for the middle class, and it caused change in families. The Industrial Revolution was a call for change.
