Industrial Revolution
The industrial revolution is one of my favorite subjects in which many inventions are made and break throughs. It is cool to see that it went from little farms to a busling urban society in England. It went from huge cotton and textile mills to high tech inventions of the time like the steam engines. But the industrial revolution had really bad times. Work places have become very dirty like mines and factories, and one person's wages could not support a family, so much of the family had to work, that meant women and children. But child labor laws were passed because working conditions were so bad. Unions were illegal at first, but since they helped in elinating strikes (there was a negotionation between worker and boss) the unions became legal. The time period also resulted in many inventions like the electric motor and battery and the famous light bulb. Now work can bed done during the day.
