On the other hand, many representatives believe that trading goods and services is important because people who don't have jobs in a certain country are able to get jobs from another country's business with outsourcing and off-shoring. Also, people of all countries can benefit from the resources and factory creations of the country it was created in thus stimulating the economy. Also, referring to a current event, if goods and services were not open between countries, Haiti relief wouldn't be where it is now. When the earthquake happened in Haiti, organizations in outside countries could respond quickly and bring in resources. Without globalization, theoretically, resources wouldn't be brought. So, some of the many reasons why we globalize is so we can get cheaper labor, so people can get jobs, so we can benefit from other country's resources and creations, and for availability during an emergency.

Why We Globalize (NY Times Link)
Currently, the idea of globalizing by trading goods and services is a controversial issue. Although many people agree that trading goods and services is efficient for economic growth and emergencies over seas, one may argue that globalizing is going in the wrong direction. As conveyed in an article from the NY Times by Brian Knowlton called Globalization, According to the World, Is a Good Thing. Sort Of. (link above), many people who are "anti-globalization" believe that it threatens their culture, damages the environment, and doesn't promote equality.

I really liked tyhe article you put up. And the example of Haiti is really true. If there werent any goods and services open between countries than it would be even worse.
