Local vs. Foreign

I think that people don't buy things locally much because often it is hard to do so. For example, if you lived in a place with a cold climate year-round, you wouldn't be able to grow crops or make other products that require warmer weather, or maybe you wouldn't be able to grow them with the same quality that you could if it were warmer. So people wouldn't buy crops that were worse, they would want the ones that were in better condition. Also, if you were making a product sometimes you could have cheaper labor in another country like we were talking about before with outsourcing or offshoring. However, it is sometimes a bad thing that in order to get goods from other places or places far away, it will cost more because of the higher shipping cost. So there are pros and cons to the situation.
