Melting pot

I have realized that being a melting pot there is one strong flavor. So what you can't define being American in a couple of words. Most definitions are not concise and most definitely not perfect but they are the gist of what the word means. You cannot define being Jewish because there are so many things to say but we all agreed that religion makes up culture. Back to the melting pot analogy. If you have a beef stew you can add any amount of things to make it taste better or worse, however, it is still called beef stew not carrot-onion-cheese-water stew. As with America you can add any amount of religion you want any amount of anything that you want but it is still America. You can say I am an American and people will know what it means. On the fact of stereotypes, if you say that you are an American in another country they immediately get a picture in their mind. How could they get this if there was no American culture. Sure it is not just baseball or just apple pie but it is a multitude of things and that makes a culture. Apple pie is just one grain of sand America is the entire beach.

  1. Great analogies Aaron. And I am very happy that you agree with our group. Your visual with the stew was very effective. Well done!
