Cuban Revolution

The Cuban Revolution of 1959 started with a failed attack with the triumph of Fulgencio Batista. Then Fidel Castro was put on trial and eventually went to jail. When he got out of jail he was exiled to Mexico where he trained a guerilla warfare army in hopes to overthrow Batista. In December of 1956 Castro and his army of 82 men landed in Cuba and made there way to the Sierra Maestra mountains. In May of 1958 Batista led a showdown at the Sierra Maestra where Castro's rebels were. The rebels inflicted maybe casualities on Batista's army and drove them back. Columns run by Castro took on Batista's army who wasn't ready the the guerrilla technique. Surrendering was the only option which Batista eventually did and then fled to Spain. Castro's army then occupied the city if Havana which brought there military victory to a close.
