Globalization Questions
I have a lot of questions and if anyone can answer them th eplease do so. First off, who are the five permanet memebers of the U.N. and if so how many are of the Great Eight? Also who elects the rotating memeber and if so does the same country usually always get it? What do you think we can do to try to help others without trying to gain from it. Was the United Fruit Company a place that exploited poorer countries for food and paid them less or are my facts wrong? Finally do you think that poorer countries are doing worse than more advanced countries because they have been overexploited or anything by larger countries? If you know the answer to any of these questions respond. I will also try to get more information on these topics

Questions are great Matt, it is my hope that as we progress through our study that you come up with more and more questions. In doing so you will uncover several things:
ReplyDelete1. The interconnectedness of these issues/organizations/ and history with respect to the present world order (remember Wallerstein?)
2. You have the ability to literally learn anything. You can develop these questions and work to uncover / discover their answers. Not only is this incredibly empowering but also at the same time humbling and fulfilling.
3. You will gain a much more profound understanding of the issues and their direct link to our class and the four quarter themes.
4. You will learn about the realities facing the human family and gain a comprehension of the world you will soon enter as an adult. You can be an agent of change in the world, to address and try to ameliorate many of the challenges we are studying.
Finally, keep digging, the answer to your questions is out there. Post your findings and collectively we as a class can try to answer them. keep up the good work and keep asking questions - Mr. Stetina
