The articles I read were quite facinating and altogether upsetting at the same time. I finally understand what each side's (Spanish and Inca) motive was. However, communication is key, and that was completely lost in translation. I'm pretty sure the Spanish wasn't going to ask the Inca, "Hey guys, do you think we could, you know, take your land from you?" (Inca response: "Of course...not.") I just still don't understand why people had to steal land and kill one another. However, the climax of this story was a complete turn around for me! A huge Incan army beaten by scared Spanish truly is a great historic story.
